DotFix ZIP Forensics - Find in Archive

The Find in Archive feature allows you to search for specific files within a loaded archive by their name or internal content.

To configure the search, specify the following parameters:

  • File mask / file name: Specifies the file name or extension to search for (e.g., *.txt or config.xml).
  • Search text / pattern: Specifies the text string to find within the file content. If this field is empty, the search is performed by file name only.

The Options section provides additional search criteria:

  • Match case: Makes the search case-sensitive.
  • Whole word: Limits results to complete words matching the search text, ignoring partial matches.
  • Regular expression: Treats the search string as a regular expression for advanced pattern matching.
  • Search in file names: Searches for the specified text within the names of the archived files.
  • Search in file content: Scans the internal contents of the files for the specified text.

Click the Search button to initiate the process. To navigate to the next found match, click the Search Next button or press the F3 hotkey. To close the search panel, click the Close button.
